Emilee 11 Years Old |
Emilee
is the seventh of seven children born to her parents Kerry and Sherry. Emilee was born on July 8, 1983, and was
the second of two girls in a family with five boys. She was truly a special spirit and had a unique gift for making
friends with anyone. Emilee was very
active in sports including basketball, skiing, roller blading, and just about
anything else that looked fun. She
had many natural talents and abilities and surely would have excelled in
anything she undertook. Emilee
had a very tender heart and was always concerned about others. She loved to spend time with her family
and as the baby of the bunch her older brothers and sister often
spoiled her. At the tender age of 11,
Emilee had a very spiritual side to her personality and she understood many
difficult issues that most kids her age did not relate to. Although she had her moments of typical
childhood fits, she was truly an angel on earth. On
March 3, 1995, she and her mother were traveling home to Idaho from Utah. A freak snowstorm had just passed through
Pocatello and had left slush on the road.
Emilee’s mother hit a patch of slush, which sent the truck into a spin
and then into a guardrail. When the
truck struck the guardrail, it flipped and rolled. Emilee was riding in the front seat without her seatbelt, and
when the truck rolled she was ejected and killed instantly due to head
trauma. Although
her physical presence is gone, Emilee’s spirit and influence live on. She is deeply missed and her family looks
forward immensely to the day when they will be reunited with her. The Bills Family Foundation was created in honor and memory of Emilee and her two brothers, Jeffrey and Jeremy, (who were also killed in traumatic accidents), with the mission to serve victims and the families of traumatic accidents. |
